I found myself in an unpleasant situation - the amount for the purchase was written off, I did not receive the goods.

КупI used 5W30 motor oil at a gas station (a few minutes before midnight) and an hour later I returned it with an unopened can - it didn’t work, I needed 5W40. I received the money on the card and left.

The next day, at about 6 p.m., the same amount of 2,000 rubles was debited from the card while I was at home after work.

No money, no goods. К тому же, счёт кредитной карты, с которой произошло списание, ушёл в долг. 🤑

I contacted my bank via the app's chat. The complaint was registered there, but they need a receipt for the purchase, which needs to be scanned and sent to the email address complaints-book@.

The receipt is no longer there, I gave it to the cashier when returning the goods.

Conclusion: take pictures of your receipts (especially since they fade, get lost, or become wrinkled).

The bank will ask you for the date, time and amount of the purchase and the receipt.

When paying by card (non-cash payment), repeated debiting is possible.

Also, for the first time I encountered “transaction rollback” with repeated execution of the operation.

That is "write-off - return - write-off".

And it can be worse:write-off - write-off.

In my case, the money was debited again the next day.

It’s good that it’s only 2,000 rubles, but if abroad 5 times 10,000 rubles each. will they write off the card “wrongly”?

The period for consideration of the application by the bank is 30 calendar days.

Since the check (or its electronic copy) has not been preserved, a negative result of consideration of my appeal is very possible:

  • in a store at a gas station at the checkout they see the purchase and return (the shift manager kindly provided a printout from the database - two statements of transactions on the date of purchase and return), but not a repeated write-off (!).

  • the bank says that they do not see write-offs for the date when the purchase was made.

  • but the money was written off the next day. By yourself? 🧐

  • reflected in my personal account - as if I spent 2000 again at the same gas station, but the next day. While at home. 😁

Thus, a non-cash transaction can be repeated without your knowledge, reducing the balance on the card, driving you into overdraft or debt. 😱

I found many examples on the Internet that when paying by card, there were multiple (most often double) debits for one purchase.

When making non-cash payments or correspondence, you need to keep the entire history, with photographs. In this case, when contacting the bank, a photo or scan of the check would help. Any lawyer will tell you that only a document fiscal check, is proof of purchase of goods you at this particular seller on a specific date and time.


Example 2: Highway M-11 "Neva"

The story happened a long time ago. I drove onto this new toll road in the evening, essentially out of curiosity. Since there are no U-turns after Kolpino, I drove far beyond Tosno towards the Novgorod region, where there are no populated areas around, only swamps, almost to the border of the regions. I saw a sharp (technical?) turn under the highway and returned to the toll point, where I entered the M-11.

Then I discovered that 1000 rubles were debited from the Northern Capital Highway (NSD) transponder, as if I was traveling from Veliky Novgorod.

The system did not recognize my maneuver. 😏

I contacted the operator through my WHSD personal account. In response they write that they need to provide information:

  1. Car make, license plate
  2. Date and time of arrival and payment point address
  3. Departure date and time and payment point address
  4. Route description
  5. Scanned receipt

I described the first points, date, time, route exactly, but there was no receipt. The money was not returned to me.

Example number 3. Which I found on the Internet. Not from plastic cards, but from life. 😀
An acquaintance parked his car overnight not in the yard, but along Paratroopers Boulevard (since the spaces near the house were occupied).

I received a fine in the mail with a photo of the car and a “no stopping” sign.

The sign is installed at the beginning of the street, and he was leaving from the middle of the block, where there is no “No Stopping” sign when turning right. This means that the driver could not see the sign at the beginning of the street when leaving the yard.

I paid a fine of 1,500 rubles.

A couple of days later, the “No Stopping” sign at the beginning of Paratroopers Boulevard disappeared. An acquaintance showed me “before” and “after” photographs, but did not sue the traffic police, because heart patient (suffers from heart disease).

Thus, if there is a questionable parking location, you need to take photographs of the area to prove that parking there is permitted. Road authorities may install or remove a sign after the fact.
