Rock FM has started broadcasting in St. Petersburg on 102.0 MHz

28 February 2023 12:24

Today, February 28, 2023, instead of “Radio Your Wave”, a rock radio station from Moscow 92.5 MHz “Rock FM” began broadcasting in St. Petersburg on 102.0 MHz.

We managed to record the beginning of the Rock FM broadcast (I cut out a news report from NSN about Ukraine).
The announcement of the start of "Rock FM" broadcasting was made on February 28, 2023 at 9 am, although the switching on occurred earlier - the radio station was already working in the morning.
(Yesterday “Radio TV” worked on this wavelength, today “Rock FM”).

Next, I present two Rock FM recordings on 102.0 MHz from 02/28/2023.

1) Announcement of the start of broadcasting "Rock FM" in St. Petersburg:

The first entry about the start of broadcasting in mono, because from a smartphone voice recorder,
the second in stereo - to the memory card of the Retekess V115 receiver.

2) Chicago group "25 Or 6 to 4".

I liked the sound of the stereo - the radio broadcasts with a wide separation of left and right channels.
What catches the eyes ears is the strong level compression, literally up to 5 dB, for listening in a car (noisy conditions).
But I would like to have a little more dynamic range, because... On the composition of the Scorpions group, sound distortion is felt at the intro.

Compression:

Rock FM broadcast cities

  • Vyborg 98.8 - 0.25 kW,
  • Luga 100.8 - 0.5 kW,
  • St. Petersburg 102.0 - 10 kW.
