New frequency 98.1 instead of 104.8 MHz

A rare occurrence for St. Petersburg is a radio station switching from frequency to frequency. Such a transition has never happened in the entire history of FM broadcasting in the city.

The new frequency 98.1 has never been used in the Northwestern Federal District of Russia.

In neighboring Finland, the broadcasting city for 98.1 Yle Radio Suomi is the city of Kuopio (Kuopio) (coordinates 62.91 27.67), which is far enough from St. Petersburg (59.935 30.315) and there should be no interference.
