Linux Green 21.2 Cinnamon vs Linux Green 21.1 XFCE

29 September 2023 17:26

This article discusses the Linux Green 21.2.1 Cinnamon version.

Linux Green 21.2.0 released June 14, 2023, contains the Cinnamon desktop. Previous version 21.1 with XFCE desktop. As written in documentation XFCE consumes less resources. As practice has shown, RAM consumption with the Cinnamon shell is about 500 MB, and differs little from the XFCE version. Live DVD version 21.2 launches more slowly in Live mode from DVD (perhaps it works worse on a slow HDD). The performance of the Cinnamon operating system installed on the SSD disk has not changed compared to the XFCE version.
