Rescuing information from your hard drive using HDDSuperClone

The user brought a disk with files covered with bad sectors. An attempt to copy information was interrupted with a read error. Victoria's remap operation resulted in numerous reports of the UNCR sector being unable to recover. As a result, I came to the HDDSuperClone program for Linux, in which I copy information from disk or disk that can be saved.

Procedure

  1. They brought a clean hard drive of the same or larger capacity than the one being rescued. In this case, both disks are 1 TB.

    1. Downloaded from the site http://www.hddsuperclone.com/ program HDDSuperClone
  2. Installed the DEB file (for Linux Mint 19.2 Tina) - all dependencies are satisfied.

  3. From the command line with full rights I ran:sudo hddsuperclone

  4. When starting, I left the default English language. (Because the translation is very “clumsy”).

  5. Drives - Select source Drive

  6. Drives - Select destination Drive

  7. In the settings in the "Settings" menu, I unchecked the "Scrap" checkbox to save copying time on blocks that are not readable.

  8. Connect
    10.Start

After clicking Start, the process began.

It should be noted that disk cloning takes a long time. But the program allows you to perform cloning in several stages. You can stop the process at any time, save the project and exit the program. The next day, after starting the computer, the program and selecting the project file, you need to re-select the source disk and destination disk, click “Connect” and cloning will continue from where you left off.

When selecting a Destination Disk, /dev/sda is often selected - check the destination disk carefully.
