According to the authoritative medium wave website mediumwave.info, the Belgian radio spectrum watchdog has stopped operating the Augusta radio repeater.

Broadcasting of "Augusta" on 1611 kHz from Belgium has been stopped

Formerly music radio station "Augusta" operated at 1611 kHz.

April 6, 2024 on the website page YDun's Medium Wave Info appeared message that:

End of AM 1611 kHz rebroadcast from Belgium for Radio Augusta. The station was seized on April 4 by the national spectrum monitoring service of the Belgian Institute of Postal Services and Telecommunications (IBPT). These technicians have the status of judicial police officers. The 400 W transmitter was seized and sealed.

According to the author of the message, Michel Fremy, the transmitter rebroadcast programs from Radio Augusta, launched by the Belgian, which broadcasts to the Internet and on FM in the Abidjan area in Ivory Coast.

There were many rumors about the location of the Augusta radio's AM transmitter: according to mediumwave.info, it was located in Peruwelz, halfway between Mons in Belgium and Lille in France.

The municipal district of Peruwelz is located in Belgium, near the border of France, and belongs to the French Linguistic Community.
