My friend, the amateur radio lives in the country in the Leningrad region, from where he goes on air on short and ultra-short waves. Here I will tell with his permission about the Ground Plane antenna of short waves of the range of 14 MHz, which he recently installed.

### Description

In addition to this antenna, City Windom is installed on the site, which works very well in the ranges of 80 and 40 meters (the length of the canvas is 41 meters from the house, the far end is abandoned using spin on wood). A new antenna of the GP (Ground Plane) type is installed in the range of 20 meters.

### GP antenna base
- implemented using the following parts and made by the statement of my friend _"By One Hour"_:
 ***Wooden bar**, scored into the ground with a sledgehammer by 30 cm - acts as a base and support insulator,
 ***Water cloth clamps** for attaching pipes from a construction store, nuts to them,
 ***Plastic bushings** they are worn on the antenna pipe in a heated form with an effort.

### Vertical antenna GP
 ***Rod** - from the marine emergency radio station - 5 meters high.
 ***counterweights** - resonant, 3 pieces on the ground "in a hurry".

The results of work on the air speak for themselves. The transfer of the radio station is heard almost throughout the globe, including Oceania, the New Zelelandia and Canada, the West of the United States (it is impossible to mention all countries). ### Conclusion

Both DX propagation and the "Ground Plane" Antenna for 20 meters ("twenty") band work fine "to the distance" together. At low power of 50 watts on short waves, in the afternoon my friend spent the radio communications at 8000-16000 km with a digital view of FT8. In addition, the antenna looks aesthetically pleasing, beautifully - almost the best stationary option for a summer cottage. Its design is strong, with low sailing and does not need stretching.
